Fight For His Life
Ever since he was twelve
He’s been fighting for his life
Surviving a deadly disease 3 times
Is not something a child should have to do
Nico is a part of my family
He’s at our house and we’re at his
We’re thankful everyday for him fighting it
Even when he was tired
It was extremely painful for him
Several surgeries, chemo, radiation
He now has to take oral chemo
For the rest of his life
His pure strength and love
Got him through this terrifying time
He had unconditional support from friends and family
Because he is loved by so many people
Nico never gave up
He always fought through
He knew it wasn’t his time to go
He knew he could beat it
Not many people have that much faith in themselves
People look at him funny now
So he doesn’t go out much anymore
I wish this never happened
He didn’t deserve it
One positive thing came out of this experience
Anything is possible to overcome in life
And Nico showed me that.
