Adding text from the poems to your essay

In the second stanza, Anne Sexton refers to war "if you faced the death of bombs and bullets" (line 14).
The text from the poem is enclosed with quotation marks.  After the quotation explain with line of the poem you are referring to in brackets.(line 23).


'you'll bargain with the calendar" (Sexton line 43).  In this case the poem is referenced with the line number.
